The Experience Hendrix Tour has added 2019 dates, with 18 concerts currently scheduled across North America in October. These shows showcase the greatness of Jimi Hendrix's music, from his outstanding pop-rock songwriting and psychedelic explorations to his mastery of blues guitar and pioneering work in R&B and funk.
The 2019 lineup includes a slew of familiar faces. Guitarists Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Dweezil Zappa, Doyle Bramhall II, Mato Nanji, The Slide Brothers, and Kevin McCormick will be joined by special guests including Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, Ana Popović, and Todd Park Mohr on a show-by-show basis. Backing the guitar virtuosos once again will be Billy Cox (Hendrix's main bassist from 1969 to 1970) and Chris Layton (drummer of Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble).
CEO of Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. Janie Hendrix shared a comment about the upcoming tour on the Experience Hendrix website:
The tour is more than a series of concerts... It's a celebration of a man whose amazing gift changed the face of music and informed an entire culture. His influences were varied and diverse. And this year we're shining a light on that diversity with artists who represent it across cultures and who also share a love for Jimi and his music. It's exciting to be able to honor Jimi's enduring legacy in this way.
